Job Title: HIV Technical Lead
Location: Abuja

Position Overview

The HIV Technical Lead will provide technical support to the NPHIA project to ensure maximum impact. The HIV Technical Lead will lead the development and implementation of selected workplan activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

Lead the design of protocol, manuals, SOP’s and training materials across disciplines
Lead IRB approval processes and modifications.

Design and implement overall quality assurance strategic plan across all areas and ensure quality of population based surveillance data.

Monitor and increase survey quality through sampling techniques, survey response monitoring, adherence to consent forms, specimen and testing quality.
Work with Lab Technical Lead to monitory quality of biological specimens and lab data quality.

Prepare monthly NPHIA quality report.

Develop and monitor referral system and lab results distribution to client and facility
Lead Technical Lead Quality Assurance Weekly meetings.

Contribute to staff orientation, training and ensure staff possess excellent knowledge of technical area and approach strategies.

Contribute to knowledge base, communication priorities and materials developed for community mobilization and communication/dissemination documents.

Assist in the design, planning and implementation of surveys.

Work with FMOH, NACA, and local health facilities to strengthen HIV surveillance and linkage to care.

Work with the state government and facilities to provide support and guidance on project monitoring and evaluation activities and on US Government and Government of Nigeria reporting requirements.

Education Requirements

Advanced degree in clinical field such as M.D., MD/PhD or MBBS with Infectious Disease training.

Demonstrated success in leading clinical program and clinical quality improvement projects in low-resource settings is required with expertise in training, curriculum development, CQI evaluation, supportive supervision and/or institutional capacity building.

Medical Sales Representative

Key accountabilities/responsibilities

Effectively and efficiently cover assigned territory and maintain a list of healthcare providers/customers by building business relationships with them and ensuring adequate distribution.

Cover hospitals, clinics, maternity homes, PPMVs, pharmacies, supermarkets, convenient stores and individual providers regularly to ensure availability of our products.

Achieve monthly sales target and cash collection.

Diligently implement the medical detailing program of the organization in the area of responsibility and educate providers on family planning and the various contraceptive methods.

Implement number of calls daily, visit all distribution channels as specified, achieve sales target and merchandise as per organization’s guidelines and standards.

Write and send meaningful field sales report with photos.

Act as a link between the organization and the providers and execute the sales/distribution, medical detailing objectives, build capacity of the providers, identify and report training needs of providers accordingly.

Building the organization’s image in the respective working areas and territories.

Qualification/Experience

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy/Pharmacology/Biological Sciences.

Minimum of 4 years medical detailing experience with a multinational pharmaceutical company.

Be prepared to travel frequently within the territory.

Must possess a high level of integrity and responsibility.

Advanced presentation, analytical and communication skills (oral and written).

Should be market oriented.

Advanced computer skills – Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Strong customer service, interpersonal skills and professional demeanour

The Bio-tech Engineer will ensure optimal functioning of diagnostic equipment in all IHVN supported clinical diagnostic, research and regional training laboratories.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

B.Eng. / HND Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.

HND Sci. Lab. Tech with specialization in Physics with Electronic.

BMLS with specialization in Instrumentation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.

Basic Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation skills.

Basic computer application and troubleshooting.

Basic knowledge of laboratories, equipment’s and automation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Bio-Tech Engineer is responsible for:

Install laboratory equipment within IHVN MDRTB reference Laboratories.

Biosafety level 2& 3 maintenance.

HVAC maintenance.

Carry out repairs and planned preventive maintenance on equipment.

Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment in conjunction with the Quality Assurance unit and other units under the Laboratory Department.

Support equipment training for site lab staff.

Certify Biosafety cabinet

Carry out scheduled equipment and apparatus calibrations.

Liaise with third party supply & service companies on equipment support services.

Liaise with Regional Laboratory Officers on equipment functions, breakdowns and support for action.

Write service and installation reports.

Provide monthly and weekly reports to the head of unit for activity and progress monitoring.

Key Equipment: Autoclave, Biosafety cabinet, Inspissator, Centrifuge, Water bath, Freezer, incubator, microscopes, Genexpert, Laminal flow hood etc.
