Other remedies include eating a few crackers in the morning before getting out of bed, consuming high-protein snacks, such as yogurt, and avoiding spicy and fatty foods, according to ACOG.

Bloating may occur during early pregnancy. This may be due to hormone changes, which can also slow your digestive system down. Your abdominal area may feel softer and fuller, this is likely caused by increased levels of the hormone progesterone.

Smell sensitivity is a symptom of early pregnancy that is mostly self-reported. There’s little scientific evidence about smell sensitivity during the first trimester. Smell sensitivity may trigger nausea and vomiting. It may also cause strong distaste for certain foods.

12. Running hot (Change in body temperature) Is An Early Signs Of Pregnancy

A higher body temperature may also be a sign of pregnancy. Your body’s core temperature may also increase more easily in hot weather. During this time, you’ll need to make sure to drink more water.

According to studies, pregnancy usually leads to an increased metabolic rate, which can make women feel generally hotter, especially when they sleep. That’s because of rising progesterone levels, which raise basal body temperature, according to a 2017 study in the journal Bioengineering and Translational Medicine.

Other steps for a healthy pregnancy

In addition to maintaining a well-balanced diet, there are other things you can do to have a healthy pregnancy:

  • Exercise regularly. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise three days a week. Don’t be afraid to incorporate a wide range of activity while you’re pregnant. Just remember to speak to your doctor before starting any new exercises. Regular exercise will also help keep your blood sugar levels stable.
  • Eat when you feel like. This helps to regulate your blood sugar levels, never skip meals and aim to eat a healthy snack or meal every two hours. Skipping meals can cause your blood sugar levels to fluctuate and make it harder to get them back under control.
  • Take your prenatal vitamins.
