Former President Obasanjo Condemns Fresh Killings In Benue
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed sadness over the continued killings of farmers by herdsmen in Benue. He spoke yesterday in Makurdi, while fielding questions from journalists after laying a wreath at the tomb of the 73 persons killed on New Year day.
He said: “I feel coming to this grave yard and laying a wreath will express sufficiently my sorrow, my sympathy and empathy to the governor and all the people of the state and indeed all the people of Nigeria.”
He maintained: “ The loss of life of one Nigerian is a loss to all of us. After the burial of the 73 persons, more than 80 others are killed in different parts of Benue. This is shocking to me and shocking to many Nigerians.”

Somebody must accept responsibility to put an end to this. If it has to be collective responsibility, then so be it . But there must be an end to this.”
